Exceptional Supporters

There are hundreds of special people, men and women of all ages and children too, who have supported our unique charity, over the years.

Shayne Miller from Supremeclean has supported Snowdrop for some time, starting with contributing money that was stolen when the Office was broken into in October 2008 after hearing about the break-in on the local news. Since then Shayne has donated 2% of every job to Snowdrop, along with sponsoring the Snowdrop Children's Christmas Party 2009 and purchasing the gift selection packs for the children. Recently Shayne has also paid for the Snowdrop leaflets to be printed.

Sarah Hughes - Chichester Observer Sportswoman of the Year 09Sarah Hughes is an unbelievable supporter. Sarah took part in cycle races and Iron man races to help with the work of The Sussex Snowdrop Trust. Not only does she race, she also cooks bread and makes jam, to sell to her clients in her hairdressing salon in Felpham.

Local girl, Kate Mosse, the famous author of Labyrinth and Sepulchre, gave a talk at the Mayor of Chichester's Gala Dinner in January 2009. The evening was in aid of the Mayor's two charities, The Snowdrop Trust and Chichester Area Talking News. Kate was accompanied by Rosy Turner her mother-in-law, who has been knitting tiny Christmas decorations to sell on behalf of Sussex Snowdrop for many years. She also plays the piano for several singing groups and they have raised funds for Snowdrop too.

The oldest Special Supporter is 92 year old Betty Ward from Walberton, Betty was the instigator of the monthly Walberton Coffee Morning, in Belinda's Studio, raising money for Snowdrop for 2 years in a row.

Ethel Huckle is an octogenarian who attends nearly every function we organise. No matter where we are, Ethel will turn up with a raffle prize or two!

Julie Fellows is another special person. Julie has been a wonderful friend to Snowdrop. In 2008 she and two girl friends took part in a 24 hour Talkathon and raised  £1,000 from sponsorship. It was suggested  that they would not be able to talk for that long, but the sceptics were proved wrong when the trio ran out of time!!
